Mexico City Mini Tour Gets The Tyrants in Therapy Dancing Again.

The Tyrants in Therapy’s May 2010 mini tour of Mexico City was an eye opener for the L.A. based duo, who had sizable dance hits in Mexico, including “Too Tuff to Cry” in the late 80’s.

“I couldn’t believe how vibrant the high energy disco scene was in Mexico,” said AbbeAbbe, the female Tyrant, “It was a whirlwind tour, short and intense: An in-depth radio interview, a couple of autograph signing events, and a Saturday night performance in front of 700 very enthusiastic fans who seemed to know all our songs.”

“It was amazing,” continues TIT co-founder The Tyrant Michael “Pascal from Trans-X kept telling us that the scene in Mexico was coming back in a big way, but when we saw for ourselves the enthusiasm of people in their 20’s and 30’s for this Italo Disco music, as they call it, it was phenomenonal.”

This boom in classic high energy music got the Tyrants to look back at their catalog from their 12” vinyl record days in the 80’s and 90’s.

“We realized that some of our most popular dance songs weren’t even available anymore, so then and there we decided to fast-track the digital only release of “Dance with the Tyrants” on emotional coathanger records, our own label.”

“Dance with the Tyrants Vol. 1” is now available on iTunes, amazon.com, and cdbaby.com. The 12 song digital collection includes the single versions of “Too Tuff To Cry,” “Crazy Dreams,” ”Paint It Pink,” ”Underground Girl of the World,” and “Sex Bomb.”

In addition, “Dance with The Tyrants” also has a generous selection of various Tyrants’ side projects including “Sweet Magic,” by Dreams Come True, “P-P-Power of Love,” and “Matter of Time,” by AbbeAbbe ,“Call of The Wild,” “Too Tuff House Rock,” by The Tyrant Michael. “We also decided to add a never before released song, “ added AbbeAbbe, “it’s a Miami-influenced cut called “Love Crazy,” which coincidentally is a collaboration between The Tyrants & Trans-X.
